I bought and installed this trigger on a Vanguard series 2 Deluxe. It was a simple installation. The only issue I had was the safety would not go all the way to the fire position. I took a dremel and trimmed a small amount of wood alowing the safety to go to full fire.
This is my third Timney trigger all have been easy installations and have worked flawlessly.
Purchased this for a new Vanguard deluxe I bought, it is simple to install one screw. The only issue I had was on the stock right where the safety goes into the "fire" position. I had to remove a very small amount of wood to allow the safety to go all the way forward to reach the full fire position. This is a single stage trigger, unlike the Vanguard factory. This is a great trigger you will not be sorry if you buy it.
Installed on a Weatherby Vanguard series 2. Very simply to install and adjust. No creep and is very crisp and light!
Made this old rifle a sub-moa shooting .30 moa at 100 yards
I installed one of these triggers in my Weatherby Vanguard chambered in 300Wby Mag and I'm extremely happy with the results. My rifle is one of the Sub MOA models. It has always been fairly accurate. The included factory target showed a group of just under an inch with Wby ammo using the Hornady 180 spire point. My results were very similar, but I found the factory trigger to feel gritty and to have a lot of creep. After installing the Timney trigger set at 2.5lbs my rifle now consistently groups the same Wby factory load into 1/2" or less. Installation was easy and the rifle is now a pleasure to shoot.
Pull weight is the amount of pressure, in ounces or pounds, required to fire the trigger. Or in other words, how hard you have to squeeze the trigger to shoot your rifle.
Timney Trigger experts at our Phoenix, Arizona plant hand-test every trigger in its intended action and then set the pull weight at our factory standard, 3 lbs.
If you prefer a different pull weight you simply select it from the drop down above and your Timney Trigger will be customized to your preference.
The #1 reason to replace your factory trigger with a Timney is accuracy. A lighter, crisper, more consistent trigger pull will make you more accurate with your firearm.
Below is a guide for pull weight selection:
Light trigger pull weights are great for people shooting lighter weight rifles as they can help keep you on target during the shot. Also common weights for target shooting from a bench.
By far the most common trigger pull weights -this is great for virtually all applications including target shooting, hunting and 3-gun competitions.
Heavy trigger pull weights are good for cold weather hunting or applications where you may be shooting with gloves on.
