Description

All stainless steel, drop-in kit does away with the non-adjustable, factory trigger and its heavy pull, for improved accuracy and more enjoyable shooting. Conveniently-placed set screws are adjustable for let-off, weight of pull (1.5 to 3lb.) and overtravel. Parts are fully-finished; heat treated for durability and ready-to-install; requires no alteration to the factory parts. Kit includes trigger, sear, reduced weight spring and instructions. Use factory spring to set heavier weight of pull.

Ruger model 77 trigger
Installation of this trigger was very easy and not complicated. This is the eighth Timney trigger I have installed. I highly recommend them.

Outstanding
Replaced factory trigger in my Ruger 280 5 years ago. after a disappointing elk season, missed shots.
New trigger fantastic improvement!
Have since shot a Dall sheep at 375 yards, 3 elk varying yardage and a nice speed goat.
Groups have dramatically improved as has my confidence in this rifle.
You really owe it to yourself and the game you hunt to get this trigger

Easy to install
I hesitated buying the Timney trigger because of the fitting for the safety kind of scared me. However, I bought the Timney and found out the fitting of the safety is very easy. I used a vernier caliper and measured the dimensions when the rifle was cocked. As it turned out I had to remove .060 which went smoothly with a file. I re-installed it several times to check my progress while measuring to reassure myself. It worked great and the safety is spot on. I worked slowly, but the total time fitting the safe was less than fifteen minutes. The trigger is EXCELLENT, as all of the other Timney triggers I have installed on my firearms. Do NOT hesitate buying this trigger because of the fitting. Suggestion to Timney....Photograph an installation on a Ruger 77 and put it on the internet along with the instructions. It would be nice to have one on You Tube.

What Is Trigger Pull weight?

Pull weight is the amount of pressure, in ounces or pounds, required to fire the trigger. Or in other words, how hard you have to squeeze the trigger to shoot your rifle. Timney Trigger experts at our Phoenix, Arizona plant hand-test every trigger in its intended action and then set the pull weight at our factory standard, 3 lbs.

If you prefer a different pull weight you simply select it from the drop down above and your Timney Trigger will be customized to your preference.

The #1 reason to replace your factory trigger with a Timney is accuracy. A lighter, crisper, more consistent trigger pull will make you more accurate with your firearm.

Below is a guide for pull weight selection:

2-2.5 pounds

Light trigger pull weights are great for people shooting lighter weight rifles as they can help keep you on target during the shot. Also common weights for target shooting from a bench.

3-3.5 pounds

By far the most common trigger pull weights -this is great for virtually all applications including target shooting, hunting and 3-gun competitions.

4.0 pounds+

Heavy trigger pull weights are good for cold weather hunting or applications where you may be shooting with gloves on.
