Mosin Nagant Adjustment Instructions

Adjustment Instructions:

To adjust pull weight:
Turning the screw counter clockwise will reduce the pull weight. Using a 5/64 hex wrench you will back out the screw and the pull weight drops. One turn equals roughly 1lb. of pull weight.

To adjust Sear Engagement (Creep):
Turning the screw counter clockwise will increase the sear engagement. Using a .050 hex wrench and a 3/16 wrench to loosen the nut you will turn the screw counter clockwise to increase the sear engagement. This will cause the trigger to creep or move before firing. Each trigger is hand tested on an action. Timney does not recommend adjusting the sear engagement.

As advertised, and more ...
I was a sniper in Vietnam with the 101st, and have stayed an active shooter, since that time. I bought a 1929 Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant, and wanted to modernize it. The trigger pull on the original was atrocious (about an inch, with 8-10 pounds of pull). I got the Timney trigger, to install with the Archangel stock (which is already inletted).

Installation was simple, and went easily. The instructions worked perfectly, and the trigger pull (only two pounds) is perfect.

I'm now getting astounding groupings with this rifle, at ranges up to 1000 yards (using a bipod). I would recommend Timney triggers for any serious firearms enthusiast.

The VERY Best
Quality of workmanship is superb. Materials are premium. Design is nearly as simple as the original Mosin and easily as reliable. A safety that can be operated without pliers.

No Creep. Breaks clean and crisp. No over-travel. 1.50 pound trigger that I can set to 4 pounds if need be. Whats not to love?

And half the cost of the next best. Thank you for all of that.

Bad instructions bad design
How does a company like timney not include instructions, comment, or warning about pull adjustment. how does a company like timney not consider bedding pillars and clearance of such in their design.

What Is Trigger Pull weight?

Pull weight is the amount of pressure, in ounces or pounds, required to fire the trigger. Or in other words, how hard you have to squeeze the trigger to shoot your rifle. Timney Trigger experts at our Phoenix, Arizona plant hand-test every trigger in its intended action and then set the pull weight at our factory standard, 3 lbs.

If you prefer a different pull weight you simply select it from the drop down above and your Timney Trigger will be customized to your preference.

The #1 reason to replace your factory trigger with a Timney is accuracy. A lighter, crisper, more consistent trigger pull will make you more accurate with your firearm.

Below is a guide for pull weight selection:

2-2.5 pounds

Light trigger pull weights are great for people shooting lighter weight rifles as they can help keep you on target during the shot. Also common weights for target shooting from a bench.

3-3.5 pounds

By far the most common trigger pull weights -this is great for virtually all applications including target shooting, hunting and 3-gun competitions.

4.0 pounds+

Heavy trigger pull weights are good for cold weather hunting or applications where you may be shooting with gloves on.
