Adjustment Instructions:

1. Cock the rifle (make sure it is unloaded).
2. Using a 1/8 Allen Wrench turn the sear engagement screw clockwise slowly until the rifle fires.
3. Turn the sear engagement screw counter clockwise one flat of the wrench.
4. Pull weight is factory set at 3lbs. to increase pull weight turn the screw clockwise. To decrease the pull weight turn the screw counter clockwise. The pull weight adjustment works by increasing the spring pressure. The spring is behind the screw; as the screw pressure increases on the spring the pull weight increases. BE CAREFUL not to back the screw out too far. Taking the pull weight below 1.5lbs will cause slam fires.

Amazing
Bought this trigger as the last step in accurizing my M77 MKI. Process to change trigger is exactly as stated on instructions. Trigger pull is much more refined than the factory trigger. Thank you Timney, looking forward to replacing more factory triggers with yours!!

AN AWESOME TRIGGER !!!!!!!!
IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THE RUGER M77 B/A RIFLES, WITH THE ORIGINAL TANG-MOUNTED SAFETY, REMOVE THAT OEM TRIGGER & TOSS THOSE PARTS INTO YOUR SCRAP METAL BUCKET !!!!!!! RECENTLY DID AN INSTALL ON A MODEL M77, PURCHASED SOMETIME IN THE MID-70'S & "OMG" WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MADE, OVER THE OEM TRIGGER. INSTALLATION WAS A BREEZE. JUST LUBE THE TIMNEY UNIT & INSTALL. DID NOT HAVE TO MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENT CHANGES TO THE PULL WEIGHT, PRE-TRAVEL, OR OVER-TRAVEL. WAS PERFECT AS ADJUSTED BY THE TIMNEY TRIGGER ASSEMBLY STAFF. CAREFUL POLISH THE SEAR CONTACT AREA ON THE BOLT COCKING PIECE, WITH RED CROCUS CLOTH OR FINER, FOR AN EVEN BETTER TRIGGER RELEASE-------OOORAH & SEMPER FIDELIS !!!!!!!!!!!

What Is Trigger Pull weight?

Pull weight is the amount of pressure, in ounces or pounds, required to fire the trigger. Or in other words, how hard you have to squeeze the trigger to shoot your rifle. Timney Trigger experts at our Phoenix, Arizona plant hand-test every trigger in its intended action and then set the pull weight at our factory standard, 3 lbs.

If you prefer a different pull weight you simply select it from the drop down above and your Timney Trigger will be customized to your preference.

The #1 reason to replace your factory trigger with a Timney is accuracy. A lighter, crisper, more consistent trigger pull will make you more accurate with your firearm.

Below is a guide for pull weight selection:

2-2.5 pounds

Light trigger pull weights are great for people shooting lighter weight rifles as they can help keep you on target during the shot. Also common weights for target shooting from a bench.

3-3.5 pounds

By far the most common trigger pull weights -this is great for virtually all applications including target shooting, hunting and 3-gun competitions.

4.0 pounds+

Heavy trigger pull weights are good for cold weather hunting or applications where you may be shooting with gloves on.
