The Timney Browning X-Bolt Trigger is fully adjustable for Sear Engagement (Creep), over travel (Follow through) and pull weight.
Adjustment of the pull weight is completed by turning the pull weight screw with a 5/64 hex Wrench. Adjustment of the sear engagement and overtravel are completed using a .050 hex Wrench.

Sear Engagement:
Sear engagement controls the amount of movement the trigger has before it breaks. Sear engagement is custom set at the Timney Factory and shouldn't need adjustment. However, if you want to adjust your triggers sear engagement (Creep) the procedure is as follows:

With the rifle unloaded and cocked. Engage the safety. turn the sear engagement screw clockwise until it stops. Slowly turn it counter clockwise 1/8 of a turn or one flat of the .050 hex wrench. The safety should move freely but the trigger should not move when the safety is engaged.

Overtravel:
Overtravel (Follow Through) is the distance the trigger moves after it fires. Timney Trigger Jedi's adjust the overtravel to factory specifications but overtravel is a matter of preference and can be increased or decreased to match your preference. The over travel screw is on the front of the housing just above the pull weight screw. With the trigger in the fired position and using a .050 hex wrench, turn the screw clockwise until it stops. Once the screw stops, turn the screw counter clockwise 1/8 of a turn or one flat of the hex wrench. Squeeze the trigger as you turn the screw to the desired amount of follow through. BE CAREFUL if the overtravel is set too tight the trigger will not fire.

Pull Weight:
Pull weight is controlled by the bottom screw on the front of the housing. Using a 5/64 hex wrench turn the screw clockwise to increase the pull weight or counter clockwise to decrease the pull weight. From the factory the pull weight is set at 3lbs.

X-Bolt trigger
I’ve owned my Browning X-Bolt for several years and was fed up with the trigger pull.
Replaced it with a Timney trigger set @ 1.25 lbs. crisp clean pull. Changed gun from mediocre to a shooter. Couldn’t be happier.

Browning X-Bolt Replacement
Finally, after years of waiting, Timney produces a replacement trigger for the Browning X-Bolt and it is exactly what I've been hoping for; two pins and a connecting link switch and its done. I did adjust the trigger down to two pounds and that was also extremely easy. However, I had to remove a slight bit of stock material for the connecting bar to clear the stock after installation of the new trigger. If you like the way the original trigger locks the bolt closed, this trigger isn't the one for you. No installation instructions came with the trigger, but I was able to print them out from on-line and they proved helpful, though I likely could have managed without instructions; its that easy.

Great upgrade.
The only weak point of my xbolt was the trigger. After installing the Timney I now have a new rifle.

XBOLT 7MM MAG STAINLESS
Had to file a lip just inside of stock on the safety side for proper fit. Typical Timney quality and function, very crisp and adjustable. 100% improvement to the 5+ pound, supposedly adjustable, stock trigger. Huge fan of Timney Triggers, all my rifles have them!

Best trigger ever
Best trigger so far for my X bolt. Been looking for one for 3 years, then had my gunsmith work on my factory trigger and had him set it to 2.5 pounds. Received this trigger from Timney Triggers in December. Installation was easy, just had to clearance a little bit of the stock to fit the safety mechanism to move fluidly. Pull weight was set at 1.5 pounds, empty 200 rounds thru my x bolt in 7mm RM, and never look back. My grouping went from 0.75 MOA down to shooting clovers with just the trigger installed. Trigger looks good, feels good, and shoots even better. Thanks Timney, for the awesome product.

What Is Trigger Pull weight?

Pull weight is the amount of pressure, in ounces or pounds, required to fire the trigger. Or in other words, how hard you have to squeeze the trigger to shoot your rifle. Timney Trigger experts at our Phoenix, Arizona plant hand-test every trigger in its intended action and then set the pull weight at our factory standard, 3 lbs.

If you prefer a different pull weight you simply select it from the drop down above and your Timney Trigger will be customized to your preference.

The #1 reason to replace your factory trigger with a Timney is accuracy. A lighter, crisper, more consistent trigger pull will make you more accurate with your firearm.

Below is a guide for pull weight selection:

2-2.5 pounds

Light trigger pull weights are great for people shooting lighter weight rifles as they can help keep you on target during the shot. Also common weights for target shooting from a bench.

3-3.5 pounds

By far the most common trigger pull weights -this is great for virtually all applications including target shooting, hunting and 3-gun competitions.

4.0 pounds+

Heavy trigger pull weights are good for cold weather hunting or applications where you may be shooting with gloves on.
